As I begin this new adventure, I need to start by thanking a few people that provided me with the extra motivation to begin this journey. It really began a few months ago shortly after harvesting a nice 8-point buck on public land with my bow. I posted pictures of my harvest on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. Shortly thereafter, James from The Hunt Blog contacted me and I asked me if I would write a short story about my hunt. I told him that I would love to and sat down to begin putting my hunt into words. Writing this blog for James got me thinking about how much I enjoy sharing my passion for the outdoors. Please check out my story on their website and let me know what you think. http://thehuntblog.com/2014/10/14/lessons-learned-public-land-bucks/
My motivation to take the final steps in pursuing my passion for the outdoors came from Philip Havens of Bowhunting Freedom. I came across Philip on twitter and started listening to a few of his podcasts. Philip is a great motivator and conducts a great interview with his guests. Philips podcasts are structured around educating listeners on all aspects of working in the outdoor industry. Along with the educational aspects, Philip pushes you to take steps towards pursuing your passion. One of Philips recent guests, Mark Kenyon of Wired to Hunt, also has a website where he shares his passion for the outdoors. Philip’s interview with Mark was exactly the motivation I needed to begin this journey.
The biggest motivation though came from my amazing wife. My wife has always supported my love for the outdoors. Her desire for me to be happy was all the motivation I needed to take this final step into launching a website and sharing my love for the outdoors with others. I am grateful for the outdoor adventures we have shared together and the many more that we will share with our children.
